Waiting

Faith RanchUncategorized

In our Christian walk, we quickly come to realize that our timing is not God’s timing, and we
often find ourselves in a ‘waiting season’.

What is a waiting season? Merriam Webster defines waiting as: To stay in place in
expectation of to remain stationary in readiness or expectation; to look forward
expectantly.

God’s timing isn’t our timing. We all have expectations about how we think our lives will go,
but we are not guaranteed things will happen according to our plans or expectations. Very
rarely, if at all, is our timing God’s timing.
Even though it may be frustrating, a waiting season is never a wasted season.
You are not alone in your waiting. Some people in the Bible that had to WAIT:

*David waited 15 years to be king.
*Moses waited 40 years to lead the Israelites out of the wilderness.
*Sarah waited 25 years for her appointed child, Isaac.
*Rebekah waited 20 years to give birth to Jacob and Esau.
*Noah lived on an ark for three hundred and seventy-eight days with his family
and countless animals. He was uncertain how things were going to go, yet he
waited on the Lord to give him dry land and an opportunity to start anew.

God uses waiting periods to remind us we’re not in control. And this is where we have to put
faith and trust into practice.

“But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like
eagles, They run and don’t get tired, They walk and don’t lag behind.” ~Isaiah 40:31

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” ~Psalm 27:14

“But they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength.” ~Isaiah 40:31
