I refer to ‘my’ tree often. As I was looking at it the other day through the gray day, how many times can we feel isolated, unproductive, barren (too poor {spiritually, emotionally} to produce much or any vegetation)? But, don’t doubt that God is working in and through you during these times…if you allow Him. We can easily ‘shut down’ in our depression, doubt, questions, apathy, dryness, etc. Sometimes we don’t even realize how far we have fell into these things…but somehow we know we can’t continue this way. This is where WE need to rise and open ourselves up (as scary as it can be). Nobody can do it for us. Seek Him and His direction, praise Him through the storm, put faith into action. This is where growth comes and produces life.
